The Trinity

This is my Symbol of the Trinity. The father has a crown because he is the King. The son has his body and blood because he is Christ and the Holy Spirit has a dove because when Jesus was baptised a dove came down from heaven.

My Anzac Essay

1940, woken up to the sight of armed soldiers, rounding people up just after midnight. A family taken by the army, making a long hard journey. From Chmielow (Poland) to Wellington New Zealand. What will happen...

Paragraph 1

On the 10th of February 1940 they used 110 cattle trains to deport 220,000 people from eastern Poland. Because (My Aunty) Czeskas fathers political career and families land, meant they were on the list of deportees. Over 1940-1941 about 1.7 MILLiON people were transported into servitude, slavery or death.

Paragraph 2

The family weren’t allowed to kill any of their animals for food as it all went to the Russian army. Czeskas father killed a pig in hiding and buried potatoes so if the Russians took everything their family would still have food. The soliders told Czeskas mum to pack quickly, all their warm clothes and feather bags.  These feather bags were what probably kept them alive.  They were forced outside by the soliders and put onto sleighs without time to get their stored food.

Paragraph 3

At Jezupol Station they were herded into one carriage of the cattle trains in a long line of waiting carriages.  An armed guard bolted the door from the outside, locking them up like animals.  There were about 60 people in their carriage and a little wood burner in the middle for cooking and warmth, six bunks with about 10 people to each bunk and a hole in the floor in the corner of the carriage as a toilet for them to use.  Occasionally they would put a bucket of soup in the doorway as if they were feeding pigs.

Paragraph 4

After travelling many miles and after a lot of struggling, Czeska and her two sisters made it to New Zealand.  After many years in New Zealand, Czeska went back to Poland to meet her brother Mietek who was left behind when the soldiers came and took them.  Czeska now lives in Oamaru, New Zealand and she wrote this book about her time in the war.

Conclusion

Czeska starved for ages and lost so much family. It’s so hard to imagine this happening to only a 7 year old girl.

ECB visit

Today I had the most Amazing experience of going to Barnadoes preschool and all the kids were SO CUTE! My buddy Jac wasn't there at the start but at the very end he came and when he heard I was his buddy he had the HUGEST smile on his face and I introduced myself to him and he gave me the biggest hug that almost made me fall over! The most funny thing that happened was when I was testing my blood sugar (because I am Diabetic.)  Basically the WHOLE class was watching me. I was 3.7 so I needed some jellybeans so I went away from all the kids watching me but they all followed me so I had to go to there office so I could eat the jellybeans without them asking me for some but some kids still peeked through the window. It was SO MUCH FUN and I had the best time EVER!
